Coached by Chelsea Ale -- Division 2 - Dive meets on Sunday at 5pm.
Chelsea dives for NC state, competed in Jr. World Championships, and has competed at USA Diving National Level for 8 years.  Dive team is open to all kids 6-18  -  no experience necessary

TEAM REP:  Nancy Ale (301)8795202 mailto:nanelale@aol.com

All Robin Hood members ages 6 to 18 (as of June 1) are eligible for the team. No prior experience is necessary.Dive team practice begins on Tuesday, May 29. A list of divers and practice times will be posted on the bulletin board at the pool before the first practice. Practice times vary according to the diver’s experience and age. Please be aware that all our practices are scheduled in the early evening. Our dual meets are held primarily on weekends (usually Sundays) in the evening. Warm-ups begin one hour prior to the start of the meet. We meet at the pool to caravan to an away meet.

Parent Clinics will be held in June at several area pools to teach the mechanics of tablework, scoring and judging. (See calendar below for dates, times and locations.) Recording and tallying scores, announcing and ribbon writing will all be taught during the table work session. Regarding judging, the four parts of the dive (approach, take-off,flight through the air and entry) will be discussed at length. Divers will perform dives that will then be analyzed in detail. This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience onhow to break down a dive into its component parts and have fun at the same time. We would like more parents to become familiar with judging so that we can draw upon a wider range of people to judge. Even if you are not currently interested in becoming a judge, attendance at one of these clinics will increase your understanding of the mechanics of good diving, thus increasing your appreciation of the sport. Uponcompletion of a clinic, parents will be certified to work at summer dive meets for three years.

Volunteers are needed for each meet. We ask that each family sign up to help at two meets.  Please plan to stay for the entire meet for the two meets you have volunteered to help with. We will also be asking each family to donate food items for home meets. The money raised goes right back to the team in the form of trophies and equipment.

The Divisional Championship Meet will be held Sunday, July 20. Each team in our Division enters two divers per event. Eight and unders do not dive in Divisionals. Robin Hood will again host the Robin Hood Invitational meet, open to those who do not compete in Divisionals. This well-attended and very fun meet is scheduled for Friday,July 18, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Well over 100 divers are expected to participate from the 25 pools that belong to the Montgomery County Dive League.
